Try it. You can always remove them. I, too, don’t quite see the point if the revenue will be tiny. But maybe it won’t.

Hey, you’re not supposed to find job ads relevant until you finish your dissertation!

But your point is well taken. At the very least, I won’t include ads unless they are interesting and relevant. Even then, it’s tough call.

I had advertising on my blog for awhile. I took it off. I decided that my blog was about sharing information, not making money.

I understand the need for ads on blogs where the authors are professional journalists trying to make a living. However, as a non-commercial hobby it didn’t fit with the purpose of my blog. Not to mention the ads were never interesting or relevant.

Good luck deciding, but I think you know my opinion.

I say go for it! That said, I normally view your posts in my RSS reader so I say this believing I won’t be distracted…
